blog travels | new orleans swagger

during a recent trip to alexandria was lured into two nineteen—a swanky new orleans-style creole restaurant—by the infectious musical notes spilling out into the streets. the ambiance of two nineteen is reminiscent of the french quarter; their victorian décor and hungarian crystal chandeliers will blow you away. and if those won’t, then the ::divine:: jazz band playing in their basin street lounge definitely will.

this image is from the bloomingdales marc by marc jacobs campaign. it perfectly embodies the atmosphere at two nineteen.   more images from the campaign here.

globe trotter | santorini

currently obsessed with santorini. (the obession began after hearing a friend delightfully regale tales of her summer vacation there in july). the crisp whites, the aqua lights, and the colbalt accents... all seem so fresh. how stunning would an onyx feather santorini collection be?

label love | EM clothing line

from the accessories line that brought you the handcrafted linen flowers…comes the EM collection. the EM collection features soft, streamlined, feminine pieces with a splash of menswear, perfect for fall. particularly in love with the “em-old schools" high-waisted jeans (below), the “silk ribbons blouse” (above)  and the “eggplant colored emerson shift."

blog travels | wearable home decor?

have got the oddest addiction to any magazine feature that translates the décor of a room into an outfit. (domino magazine excelled at this.) there’s something fascinating about the ability to make someone basically wear their living room and look great doing it. it’s the ultimate style challenge. the caramel jacket to the scalloped caramel chair?  impressive.
