blog travels | life in technicolor
in the midst of designing the onyx feather spring/summer line and it incorporates a lot of vivid color. the result: my brain is permanently stuck in a color wheel right now.

color wheel | shades of green
love the retro-ethereal vibe of this photo; it reminds me a lot of the onyx feather thalia necklace. the olive, kelly green (is that kelly green? sometimes i don't know what i'm talking about), deep purple, and brown all blend so well together. (found on tinytoadstool; she takes such rewarding risks with style.) the result of this outfit? a really relaxed comfortable-chic look.
on a deadline tonight to create a custom piece for a really cool and unusual client based in seattle. trying to decide whether to go with sparkling onyx stones and create a luxe cairo collection piece, or shimmering pewter quartz ones and make an enticing paris collection necklace. can't wait to share details when it's done. happy weekend everyone!

color wheel | mint, silver, and white
there's something about mint. it's fresh, crisp, and hardly overdone. it's refreshing in little doses (i.e. solange in the refinery 29 shoot above), or it can be used to make a statement. (like the cropped mint pants below. the ones that most girls would look like a court jester in except for this girl in berlin. and this girl.)

color wheel | coral + black and gold
found some stunning coral dresses on heidi merricks site. coral is a brilliant (literally and figuratively) summer color. tip: if you aren't particularly preppy or girly, paring coral with black and gold accessories makes your final look more edgy, and less nantucket-y.
color wheel | army green + deep red
experimenting with lively or unexpected colors is a simple element to great styling. so “color wheel” will be an ongoing series highlighting playful or unconventional color combinations.
army green countering a strong red (whether it’s engine red, burgundy, carnelian, ruby, carmine, etc) is an effortless way to create visual interest. when paired together incorrectly they look like christmas in july, but when done expertly these colors radiate an army-chic vibe.
